The Parlex Group of European Lawyers was established in 1971, bringing together practices specialising in commercial law. It now has members in most Western European countries and an affiliate in the United States of America. It was the first European Economic Interest Grouping registered in England. Its secretariat is in London.

Each member firm has an excellent commercial reputation and is able to handle a wide variety of corporate and commercial work across many business sectors; for example mergers and acquisitions, agency and distribution, commercial contracts, company advice and litigation.

Some members have highly specialised knowledge in particular fields; for example advertising, planning and commercial property development, tax, intellectual property, film, television and theatre work, new technologies and personal injury work. If the member firm to which such work is referred does not share such specialist knowledge, it will immediately seek another firm within its jurisdiction which can assist.

The main purpose of Parlex is to ensure that the clients of each member have instant access to specialist legal advice concerning their business affairs throughout the European Economic Area and beyond.

From its inception Parlex has been both a personal and a professional association and strong ties of friendship and trust have developed over many years. These ties are strengthened through our annual meetings and by a series of exchanges of junior lawyers between firms. As a result, members and their clients can be sure of the importance of their work when handled by all other members.
